My Nieces Paint Birthday Party

My sister is the best party planner this side of the Mason Dixon Line.
Here is my nieces paint party that of course I just HAD to share!

Picasso Mural for the School

So I have this plan.
I want to take this Picasso quote and paint it as a mural on a wall at school.
Just a thought.
Love, Love, LOVE this quote.

“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel? You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.”

Hip Hop Tigers

End of the year brings upon brighter and happier projects- for example, these Hip Hop Tigers!  We started with a VOKI www.voki.com
on tigers followed by a tiger PREZI. www.prezi.com
The students were guided by me to draw a tiger, then traced it with a sharpie and finally painted with neon biocolor paint.  After everything was dry we made what I like to call "Kanye" glasses and glued them on.  This is a project I found on an art blog some where else!  Not my own but an awesome lesson!

tcap testing bulletin board

Another one of my co-workers fantatstic creations for our TCAP testing week!  Every day we put a check on the bases based on what test had been taken.  The teachers put pictures of the students on their baseball!  ADORABLE!
TCAP BUSTERS! We're going to do our best to bust the test!

Metro Trash Truck Competition!

In the fall there was a Metro Trash Truck Competition!  In honor of Earth Day month I thought it would be appropriate to have this post!  The students all drew pictures on how to protect the  earth.  Our school had two students who were chosen to have their artwork on a trash truck!  This is one of my 4th graders Emilia who always gives A worthy art!  So proud of her!
Here are Mrs. Staehling and I with Emilia!
She received the Red River Award of Distinction!
What an honor!
